Images of the book’s characters or setting are standard on fiction covers, particularly in genres like romance and fantasy. Readers of these genres often look for stories that transport them to different worlds, and a well-chosen image can give them a taste of what they can expect from the book. For example, the cover of J.K. Rowling’s  Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone  features a close-up of Harry’s face surrounded by his friends, Hagrid and Hogwarts castle.
